Apple's Ipad 2 Launches Early

Official sales of Apple's iPad 2 will kick off Friday, retailers said Wednesday, in an apparently hurried response to unauthorized sales of the device in recent weeks.
The iPad 2 will go on sale at authorized dealers including re:Store, Bely Veter Tsifrovoi, M.Video, Z-Store, Tekhnosila and Eldorado from 7 p.m. Friday evening.
The short notice announcement ends months of impatient speculation among Apple fans over the iPad 2's launch in Russia.
But it appears that Apple was forced to bring the date forward after telecom chain Svyaznoi started unauthorized sales May 12.
The early sales led to allegations published in online newspaper Gazeta.ru on Tuesday that Svyaznoi's iPads may have been purchased though gray channels.
http://www.usbonlinegroup.com/images/661/WSS-IKB07_01.jpg
Svyaznoi spokeswoman Yelena Nogotkova rejected the allegations. We bought the shipments from Russian distributors, and Apple authorized these shipments for sales on the Russian market, she told The Moscow Times. All our iPads were purchased in compliance with Russian law and customs procedures.Apple did not respond to requests for comment Wednesday.Tigran Hovhannisyan, a senior consultant at UralSib Capital, said Svyaznoi's purchases could be legal if the chain's distributors had bought the iPads in Europe from a non-Apple partner.

Comcast Updates Xfinity app for iPhone and iPod Touch

The Xfinity TV app for iPad allows users to stream TV shows and movies from Comcast's On-Demand catalog directly to their iPad, or tune their televisions to On-Demand and watch them there.
The Xfinity Mobile App for iPod Touch and iPhone also allows users to tune their set-top boxes, program their DVRs, and access program guides and other Xfinity features, but didn't offer the same streaming features that iPad users enjoyed.
Until now, that is - Comcast just updated the Xfinity TV app for iPhone and iPod Touch to allow Comcast subscribers to stream videos from On-Demand instantly, as long as you have an active subscription to Comcast Digitial TV.
The Xfinity TV app is completely free, but once you've downloaded it you'll have to log in to your Comcast account to prove that you have an active subscription. Comcast's press release says there's over 6,000 hours of programming from 25 different sources available in the app,and that's only the beginning. They're planning on adding more content soon.
http://www.usbonlinegroup.com/images/uploads/1072/0025175.jpg
The app still has all of the other features you've come to appreciate from the Xfinity TV apps for iOS and Android - you can schedule your DVR remotely to catch a show you won't be home in time to watch, and you can change channels on your television without reaching for the remote control. You can also search On Demand and TV listings quickly to see what's on your favorite channels, and if you find something you want to watch, you can change the channel instantly.
You'll have to be home with your TV and cable boxes turned on in order to set up the app, but after the setup is complete, you're all set. The app is up and available now in the iTunes App Store.

IPad Keyboard Dock or bluetooth Keyboard?

Compared to the iPhone's tiny onscreen keyboard, the version on the iPad is nearly touch-typable, especially in landscape mode. But if you plan to use your iPad for serious data input--such as writing an article like this one--you'll want a real, physical keyboard.
Apple's official option is the iPad Keyboard Dock, which combines an iPad-optimized version of the company's no-keypad keyboard with a sturdy dock base. But one of our favorite iPad surprises is that you can instead use any bluetooth keyboard, including Apple's own super-portable Wireless Keyboard.

Whichever you choose, the advantages of an external keyboard go beyond the tactile differences between an onscreen keyboard and a physical one. Apple's real keyboards also give you more keys, special-function keys, and the capability to use a number of standard Mac keyboard shortcuts.
For example, you can use the wireless keyboard's arrow keys--alone or in combination with Command, Option, and Shift--to navigate your document and select text. Editing shortcuts such as Command+C (copy), Command+X (cut), Command+V (paste), Command+Z (undo), and Shift+Command+Z (redo) also work with external keyboards, and you can use Option-key shortcuts for typing diacritical characters. Even some Cocoa/emacs editing shortcuts--for example, Control+A, Control+E, and Control+K--work. (Mac bluetooth keyboards are a better fit for the iPad than are Windows versions for many of the same reasons a Mac keyboard is a better fit for a Mac than is a Windows keyboard, only more so: on an iPad, you don't get Mac OS X's options for swapping modifier keys.)
But which should you choose, the iPad Keyboard Dock or a bluetooth keyboard? It depends on how you plan to use an external keyboard. I've been using both options over the past week or so; here are some things to consider when making your decision.
The iPad Keyboard Dock and Apple's Wireless Keyboard each costs $69 (unless you're a Mac user who already owns the Wireless Keyboard, in which case this decision is easy). But keep in mind that to use the latter, you'll need some kind of dock or stand. You can use Apple's iPad Dock, but that will set you back another $29.
If buying the iPad has busted your budget, an inexpensive dock alternative is a cheap book or document stand--before receiving my iPad Dock, I used a $5 book stand that had been sitting in a drawer for the past couple years. Going this route also lets you choose whether to position the iPad in landscape or portrait orientation. (The iPad Keyboard Dock and iPad Dock hold the iPad only in portrait mode.) With either solution--official Dock or makeshift version--you can connect the iPad's dock-connector cable to charge or sync, although with a generic stand, you can't connect headphones or speakers at the same time in portrait mode, since the headphone jack and dock connector are on opposite ends of the iPad. (Apple's Docks provide an audio output.)
In fact, this last item points to the Keyboard Dock's biggest limitation for me: Portrait mode is fine when typing in Pages or other apps where your documents tend to have a paper-like aspect ratio. But I use a good number of apps where I prefer landscape orientation when typing; Mail and Safari are just two of the most-obvious examples. And don't forget that the Keyboard Dock won't accommodate an iPad in a case. Winner: bluetooth keyboard.

Best Bluetooth iPad Keyboard

Choosing the best iPad keyboard can be tricky, so it's important to remember why exactly you wanted one in the first place. For most, this comes back to the numerous issues they suffer with the touchscreen keyboard.

Now, the first thing to point out is that this is not simply a case, but one which incorporates a wireless iPad keyboard into its sleeve. So from the word go, we can see that this product is innovative and set on saving the user time by allowing you to keep your keyboard and tablet together permanently. Naturally, the best part about the keyboard and case combination is the fact that you have the power to remove the iPad from this setting at any time and use the touchscreen as normal, but at the same time, it's nice and efficient to keep the two together.
You will therefore have no trouble transporting the two items on the go, since they easily fold up together into a thin, lightweight package. This means that you can just throw your iPad into your rucksack and not have to worry about the wireless iPad keyboard scratching your screen on the way.
This bluetooth iPad keyboard is therefore the closest you will be able to get to emulating your desktop PC setup at home. This means that you'll feel right at home when you're carrying out those extensive typing tasks on the go, whether that's writing essays or emails.
So without a doubt, if you're looking for the best bluetooth iPad keyboard, you won't do better than the Blurex D-Lux leather iPad case combo.

Some Jabra Wave Bluetooth Headsets Review

Jabra-Wave-1There are thousands of bluetooth headsets out there these days. Choosing one that fits you perfectly has been quite a chore. My first bluetooth headset ever was made by Jabra. It's a brand I personally trust and like. My first bluetooth headset that I owned was the Jabra FreeSpeak BT250 which was extremely comfortable. Luckily Jabra brought back the design and created the Jabra Wave.
Jabra-Wave-2
Inside the packaging you'll get the Wave, micro USB charger, small and large eargel, and a foam wind suppressor for the boom microphone.
Jabra-Wave-3Jabra-Wave-4.
The design of the Wave is similar to the original FreeSpeak. On the left is the larger FreeSpeak and on the right is the slimmer Wave. The curved designed is made so that the headset rests perfectly behind the ear. The reason I chose the original FreeSpeak as my first bluetooth headset was because in-ear and over-the-ear designs never really fit on my ear perfectly or even comfortably. The behind-the-ear design feels extremely comfortable and natural to me. Best thing about it is that it doesn't really interfere with glasses.
Jabra-Wave-5
Of course the new Wave has more advanced features than my original FreeSpeak. New features for the Wave are
1) Voice Guidance which gives spoken battery level and bluetooth connection status
2) Ability to connect to 2 bluetooth devices
3) 3 layer wind noise reduction
4) Crystal clear sound and voice using DSP technology
5) Status display showing bluetooth headset connection and battery status
6) Up to 6 hours talk time and 8 days standby time.

The iPad 2 will may be on backorder for consumers

The iPad 2 may be on backorder for consumers, but Apple doesn't seem to have any shortage of them when it comes to its own uses. On Sunday, the company started using the popular tablet to replace paper signs at its retail stores.
At a visit to its Palo Alto store (just about a mile from the home of CEO Steve Jobs), visitors could interact with nearly 60 iPads placed next to most products on display. The iPads were inside a plastic case that's attached to the table, making it impossible to pick up or walk away with. And the device's home button was disabled, so visitors couldn't get to the home screen or run any software on the iPads other than the point of sale display dedicated to the product sitting right next to it.
The iPads have detailed information about the product next to it which varies depending on what it is.
One option on the device allows you to page a sales person.
Other Retail Menu Applications
Apple hasn't talked about other retail uses of its iPads, but it's not hard to image this becoming a product line for them. It's easy to imagine how other retailers could use tablets to describe, promote and enhance products ranging from tennis shoes to turnips. I could see how a clothing retailer could use it to help customers not only learn more about the garment (such as care instructions) but also see if their size or favorite color is in stock or available at another location or via the web. A grocery store could use this technology to provide nutrition information and recipes. And some day, I could easily imagine a waiter handing for iPad 2 instead of a menu which would not only display your options, but send the order directly to the kitchen and tally up your bill.

How to increase Battery life of your cell phone

Prevent the Memory Effect - Keep the battery healthy by fully charging and then fully discharging it at least once every two to three weeks. Exceptions to the rule are Li-Ion batteries, which do not suffer from the memory effect. Do not leave the battery dormant for long periods of time.
Always use a battery charger, which is by the same manufacturer as your phone, it gives it more life. It also helps if you overcharge your battery now and then.
Keep the Batteries Clean - It's a good idea to clean dirty battery contacts with a cotton swab and alcohol. This helps maintain a good connection between the battery and the portable device.
Do not leave your cell phone near any source of heat, a common place being the dashboard of your car, as extreme heat may affect the battery. The battery also operates better at room temperature, vis-à-vis extreme cold.
The vibrator mode of your cell phone consumes more battery, so when not needed, use the ring-tone mode.
Battery Storage - If you don't plan on using the battery for a month or more, store it in a clean, dry, cool place away from heat and metal objects. Batteries tend to de-charge when not in use, so make sure you charge them again before using. The performance of any cell phone battery, however, no matter how properly cared for, usually diminishes after about a year. It is better to get your battery replaced then.
NiMH Li - Ion and Lithium Polymer
Made from Nickel Metal Hydride. Made from Lithium Ion.
Higher energy density. Twice the capacity of NiCad. Same energy as NIMH, but weigh 20-35% less.
More run time. More run time, at lighter weight, thus ideal for cell phones, camcorders etc.
Battery's capacity reduces over time due to frequent recharging. Can be recharged without capacity reducing
Environment friendly, since they do not contain heavy metals. Environment friendly, as they do not contain mercury or cadmium and other such toxic metals.
Require less maintenance. Require little maintenance.
Phones cost- Rs. 4,000 to Rs.6,000 Phones cost- Rs. 3,000 to Rs. 45,000
My new battery isn't charging. Is it defective?
One needs to discharge and recharge a new battery at least 2-4 times for it to reach it's maximum rated capacity, as most of these new batteries, are not charged. An overnight charge or 12 hours, is a good enough time for your battery. An indication could be the battery getting warm to the touch. When charging the battery for the first time, the device may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes. This is normal with rechargeable batteries. New batteries are hard for the device to charge; they have never been fully charged and not "broken in." Sometimes the device's charger will stop charging a new battery before it is fully charged. If this happens, remove the battery from the device and then reinsert it. The charge cycle should begin again.
What is "memory effect"?
A partially discharged battery at times does not fully discharges before recharging. It sort of "forgets" to do so. This is what is the memory effect. For e.g. if you fully charge your battery and then use only 50% of its capacity before the next recharge, eventually the battery will become unaware of its extra 50% capacity, which has remained unused. The battery will remain functional, but only at 50% of its original capacity. To deal with this, always fully discharge your battery, before recharging it. This can be done by, unplugging the device's AC adapter and letting the device run on the battery until it ceases to function. This will help your battery remain healthy.
What Are Volts and Milliamp-hours (mAH)?
These are ratings on every battery. Milliamp-hours or (mAH), is one-thousandth of an amp-hour (1AH = 1000mAH). The voltage of the new battery should always match the voltage of your original unless the batteries are different chemistries. NiMH and Li-Ion batteries have different voltage ratings, even if they're for the same device.
How long do typical batteries last?
Generally, 11/2 - 3 years, or 500-800 charge-discharge cycles. As the rechargeable battery begins to die, there is a decline in the running time of the battery, till it reaches to 50% of its running time, and you need a new battery.
Can I recycle my old battery?
NiCad, NiMH and Li-Ion batteries should be recycled. Be environmentally conscious - do NOT throw these batteries in the trash.
How long will my new battery run?
Battery run-time is difficult to determine. Actual battery running time depends upon the power demands made by the mobile phone. The use of the screen, the device and other accessories results in an additional drain upon the battery, effectively reducing its running time. The total run-time of the battery is also dependent upon the design of the mobile phone.

The Queen of England has bought an ipad 2

The Queen of England, Elizabeth II, has bought an iPad 2 after being impressed with the Apple tablets belonging to Princes William and Harry. The English newspaper the Daily Mail reported the Queen's purchase, which groups her with millions of commoners who also own the devices."The 85-year-old monarch is said to have been so impressed with the touch screen device that she immediately ordered staff to buy her one," the Daily Mail said. "She hopes to use the popular computer for long journeys around the country when she is inside the Royal car or train."William and Harry "think it is hilarious," the report said. "They love the fact that their gran wants an iPad and think she's really cool."
This isn't Elizabeth's first Apple pick-up -- she's had a few iPods since those Apple gadgets were first released to retail, the Daily Mail said.President Barack Obama gave her an iPod during a visit to London in 2009, the report said.Apple has said that it sold more than 15 million of the first-generation iPads. The iPad 2, which is lighter and thinner and features front and rear cameras, was released in March.

Battery is the most important part of a cell phone

Every cell phone's component is very important in the cell phone's usage, but how many times have you ever thought what is the most important cell phone accessory which assures the best functioning of our cell phone? I bet you haven't. You are interested just in benefiting of all the advantages these devices have to offer us. That's the first thing you are interested in. You don't care what the cell phone's components are but you should. You should definitively stop and think for a second what's the most important cell phone accessory which assures the perfect functioning of your cell phone?
The Cell Phone Battery is without any doubt the most important device which assures the best functioning of your cell phone. That's the first device all our cell phones should have incorporated; without them these devices couldn't even work. Have you ever seen functioning a man without its heart? I bet you haven't. If you haven't seen this, than you aren't going to see a cell phone without a battery. This is impossible. If a cell phone doesn't have a battery one can't even turn it on. What's the point of having a cell phone if you don't have a Cell Phone Battery?
http://www.w-cellphones.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/cell-phone-battery.jpg
This cell phone's battery represents the cell phone's heart without whom cell phones couldn't possibly work. That's how important they are. All the cell phone's components are important but the Cell Phone Battery is without any doubt the most important one. Cell phones couldn't possibly work without these devices. So, every time you'll have cell phone battery problems all you'll have to do will be to replace it. That's definitively the first thing you should do: replace the cell phone battery with a new one. But be very careful what cell phone battery you are going to buy because not all cell phone batteries are compatible with your cell phone.
Let's just say you have a Nokia cell phone and your Cell Phone Battery just broke. What can you do? What's the cell phone battery you'll have to buy in order to be compatible with this device? Firstly you should take into consideration not just the cell phone brand but also the cell phone model. Once you have more than clear these particular aspects you'll know what cell phone battery you have to buy. You couldn't possibly buy a Samsung cell phone battery if you have a Nokia cell phone. They aren't compatible.
People are quite pretentious and some of the cell phone consumers prefer to buy a new cell phone instead of changing their cell phone's batteries. One can do this if they have enough money but what can you do if your budget isn't enough? Well, what else if not changing their cell phone battery? That's definitively the first thing every cell phone consumer should do now matter what budget he has. Only if their cell phone can't work as it once did they can and should change their devices. So, choose the solution which will perfectly suit not just your budget but also the situation。

iPhone OS updates may soon come wirelessly

iPhone users generally have things pretty good - varied selection of apps, solid data service, seamless connectivity with most computers. What iPhone users do not have is the ability to wirelessly update their operating system. Until now! (Maybe.) Over at the usually-reliable tech site 9 to 5 Mac, Mark Gurman reports that Apple and Verizon are in the process of bringing this functionality to the iPhone, perhaps as soon as this fall.

As Gurman notes, wireless updates are already commonplace in the Android ecosystem, and why not? It's easier and simpler to push updates directly to handsets - much easier than the current Apple set-up, which requires users to sync up their iPhone with iTunes. Gurman says it is unclear whether or not Apple is negotiating a similar wireless functionality with AT&T; right now, it looks like Verizon users would get the feature first.
"Obviously, if this is a feature in iOS 5, it should conceivably make its way to iPad and iPod touches as well," Gurman writes. "That means iTunes may no longer be a needed conduit for updating iOS devices in the future. It would also mean that the iPad could finally be a stand alone device." This last point is especially important: Right now, iPad users must own a laptop or desktop computer to get the most out of their iPads.
Wireless updates would change that.
But as Lance Whitney notes over at CNET, wireless updates would also present some unique challenges. "[U]pdating an iPhone through iTunes first syncs the contents of the device to the PC as a precaution in the event the update fails," Whitney writes. "If an update were to bypass iTunes, people would need some other way to back up and sync their devices, perhaps through some sort of cloud-based system.

Give Your Mom an App Mother's Day

Mothers are getting more and more tech savvy. With each new revision of Apple products, the human factor of tech gets more and more intuitive. So it's more than a little likely that flowers, candy and a trip to the spa will soon be replaced by apps, digital media, and pre-paid online services. Accordingly, here are a few ideas on what sort of tech you can get for your mother this year.

Send a Gift Directly From iTunes

The great thing about gifting someone an app, album, TV show or movie is that it's instant. So if you're a last-minute shopper, this should be just what the doctor ordered. On the Mac version of iTunes, it couldn't be easier.
  • Select either the app, album, TV show, audiobook or movie you want to gift
  • Click on the drop down arrow next to the price and select Gift This Item
  • Enter the recipient's e-mail address
As to which app is best for Mom, Apple has created a special Mother's Day list of apps if you need some ideas. You can gift apps directly from the App Store on your iOS device.  If there's a problem, log on to your iTunes account and review your purchase history. There you'll see each of your gift purchases. You can enter each gift purchase and either report a problem or send it again.

Gift Card for iBook, Electronic Gift Card for Kindle

There's also the traditional means of getting a gift card.  One option is to get an electronic version of the gift card and have it sent directly to the recipient's inbox on the device to which the gift card will more than likely be applied.  Unfortunately, books aren't currently able to be sent as gifts directly from within the iBooks store. You can at least ship an iTunes gift card directly from your iOS device using the official Apple Store app.
  • Search for "Gift Card" in the Apple Store app.
  • Choose the gift amount you want to give.
  • Tap the price button and click on the green Add to Cart button, then Checkout.
  • Before you place the order, be sure to edit the shipping address.
Neither the iOS Apple Store, nor the online Apple Store has a way to email an iTunes gift card directly. Amazon, however, does. Amazon gift cards can be emailed directly to the recipient. Just search for "Gift Card" directly from the iOS Amazon App.  You can even send the gift card via Facebook.

Pre-Pay for Online Services Like Netflix

If bandwidth caps don't drain us dry first, we'll all be nickel-and-dimed to death by monthly recurring charges.  You can either ease your mother's burden by paying for her current subscriptions, or add to her pain by introducing her to yet another online service.  Online services like Netflix are allowing gifts of a number of months between individuals. Three months of Netflix would be a great add-on gift if you're considering giving an Apple TV this Mother's Day.
Any other ideas? What kinds of Apple-related gifts are you giving your mom this Mother's Day?

Motorola Atrix Android smartphone is saleing in UK

Motorola will start selling its new Atrix Android smartphone in the UK from tomorrow, with 420 Orange mobile phone stores initially stocking the Froyo 2.2 handset. Orange will offer the Motorola Atrix for free from £35-a-month with 600 minutes of calltime, 750MB of data and unlimited text messaging. The 3G handset will also come with an optional accessory set including a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse and remote control and a dock allowing the Atrix to be charged and to connect to an external screen via HDMI. As a loyalty bonus, the HD Media Dock will be free to existing customers upgrading, or £40 to new Orange subscribers. Once the initial promotion is over, the set will cost £49.99.

Motorola is actually punting two docks for the Atrix. The HD Media Dock is designed to "use the phone to drive the entertainment centre", while a Linux-based Webtop OS on the 11in-screen Lapdock will allow the Atrix to function as a full laptop. Curiously, while the handset itself runs the usual Google Chrome Lite web browser, the Lapdock - a battery pack with screen but no native storage - runs the desktop version of Mozilla Firefox.

When using the 1.1kg Lapdock, the Atrix sits behind the 11in display, hidden from sight. To ensure you don't miss a call when watching a video or TV programme, you get an onscreen alert. Pull the phone out the dock to answer the call and playback automatically freezes, ready to resume whenever you're ready. A speaker on the rear edges of the dock allows you to make hands-free calls.

Using this dock, say Motorola's UK spokespeople, there's potentially no need to take a laptop with you on the road. Several of the company's staff have reportedly been using the Atrix plus £Lapdock combination for their mobile processing needs. To join them you will need to stump up £299 or up your montly contract to a mighty £60.

The Atrix HD media dock, meanwhile, is a pure connectivity and charging dock. It adds an output to an HDMI port so video and music can be streamed to an HDTV, websites browsed and social networking updates and emails checked online.

Orange will be the launch partner for the Motorola Atrix (which has been onsale in the US since March), but its 'Everything Everywhere' network partner T-Mobile will swiftly follow. T-Mobile will start selling the device next month.

The Atrix is being billed by Motorola as "the world's most powerful smartphone". It boasts up to 48GB of onboard storage when a microSD memory card is used. The dual-core nVidia Tegra 2 ARM Cortex A9 processor runs at 1GHz and, along with 1GB of RAM, supports a 4in 540x960-pixel capacitive touchscreen. However, at launch it will be a Android 2.2 OS device, rather than running the newer 2.3 Gingerbread.

Back in February, Motorola told us this would be the case, acknowledging it was keener to get the Atrix onsale than it was to ensure the marginal feature enhancements of Gingerbread were included. Motorola told us today that there are no definitive plans for when the 2.3 upgrade will happen, though it's still on the cards.

The Atrix sports almost identical hardware to its US cousin, which has been onsale on the AT&T network for the past few weeks. One major difference, however, is that the European version offers 3G connectivity, while the US model has a 4G cellular radio.
The Motorola Atrix is the first fruit of the Motorola Mobility Group - a spinoff from Motorola Inc that was formed in January. Further devices along similar lines are planned, say Motorola, but the company is not looking at adding docks to other, currently less powerful, products in its line-up such as the Motorola Droid or Defy.

Proporta Leather Protective Case with Standing for iPad 2 – Accessory Review

I've been to a number of meetings recently where the majority of attendees arrive with iPads in tote and the one thing everyone has in common is a nice case. If you've already got your new iPad 2, are waiting for it to arrive in the mail or looking to buy one in the near future, you'll definitely need a good case to protect your device from the bumps and scratches of everyday use. UK based Proporta might have just the case you've been looking for with its high quality, professional looking Leather Protective Case with Stand.
This notebook style case is made from the highest quality black leather and holds your iPad 2 securely in place, whether you are at the desk in your office or on the couch at home. Installation is easy, requiring you to slide your iPad into position, fold the leather flap behind it and you are ready to go.

Proporta's case incorporates several nice features for any iPad 2 user. When open, the iPad sits on the right hand side with a notepad for notes or doodling on the left. The case also provides cutouts for access to all the iPad 2's ports, buttons and cameras. A built-in stand is easy to setup by bending the case backwards and standing it horizontally on a table or desk - a real plus for watching movies.
The thin profile adds minimal bulk to the overall design of the case, allowing users to slip their device into a briefcase, backpack or large handbag. All packed up and ready to go? A small leather strap and heavy duty snap keep your case securely closed and your iPad thoroughly protected.
Proporta guarantees its users a lifetime warranty for their case, a "never argue" return policy, a secure payment and personal information policy.
